Lorraine Gehrman

Lorraine Esther Gehrman, 78 years of age, of China Grove, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.

Lorraine was born February 23, 1937 in Massachusetts to the late Huntington Rhodes Sylvester and Esther Sylvester.
She was also preceded in death by brother, Arthur Sylvester, sister, Jean Booth, husband, James Gehrman.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Friday, July 10, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be on Saturday at 11:00 am at St. Marks Lutheran Church in China Grove officiated by Rev. Phil Thorsen .

Survivors include daughter, Deborah Coley of Salisbury, son, Harold "Butch" Frotten, Jr. of Raleigh, NC, son, Robert Frotten of China Grove, NC, son, Richard Frotten of Revere, MA, daughter, Denise Dorney of Otisfield, ME, daughter, Louise Cormier of Exeter, NH, grandson, Charles Coley, granddaughter, Christine Hubbard, granddaughter, Melissa Dorney, grandson, Christopher Frotten, grandson, Nicholas Frotten, granddaughter, Taylor Frotten, grandson, Aaron Frotten, grandson, Jacob Frotten, granddaughter, Cayla Cormier, Stepson, DeWayne Gehrman of MN, Step grandson, Hunter Gehrman, Step Grandson, Phillip Gehrman, great grandson, Matthew Coley, great-granddaughter, Isabella Coley, great-granddaughter, Annabelle Hubbard.

Lorraine was a loving mother and was proud of all her children and their accomplishments. She was known for her feisty personality and told you like it was even if you didn't want to hear it. Lorraine loved to cook and entertain and was much loved by her neighbors and friends. She was always willing to help any of them in need. She took great joy in her appearance and was always fashionable. Her home and flower garden was a great joy to her. Lorraine was a direct descendent of the original pilgrim settlers of Plymouth Mass.
