Ruth “Duck” Carter, 81, of Concord, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2012, at Tucker Hospice House. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Jim Howard, will be held in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Ruth was born on May 21, 1931, to the late James Linn Carpenter and the late Bessie Leonna Talbert Carpenter. She is survived by several nieces and nephews and her friend, Margie Eury. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Carter family.
