Louie Porter Hunter, III, 76, of Oakboro, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Atrium Health Stanly in Albemarle after a period of declining health.
Louie was born June 17, 1945 in Charlotte to the late Louie Porter "LP" Hunter, Jr. and the late Alice Rucker Hunter.
He was a member of Bethel Church Midland, graduated from North Mecklenburg High School, served in the Air National Guard and was the retired owner of Hunter Air Systems.
Louie was laid to rest during a private committal service at Bethel Church Cemetery on September 14, 2021. The service in celebration of Louie's life will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Bethel Church Midland 12700 Idlebrook Rd. The family asks that all attendees wear masks.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Lynn Bowers Hunter of Oakboro, NC; daughters Lou Magaldi and Becky (Randal) Bast and son Chip (Leigh) Hunter; grandchildren: Abram Magaldi, Katie Bast, Aidan Bast, Isaac Bast, Rachel Bast, Bethany (Trevor) Cruse, Duke (Sarah) Hunter, Savannah Hunter, Carley Hunter, Alex Hunter; great-grandchildren: Eli Cruse and Lyla Rose Hunter as well as sisters Ann (Tom) Brown and Gwen (Jimmy) Parker.
