Biography Louise Mae Blackwelder, 85 years of age, of Midland, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2016 at St. Andrews Living Center in Concord.
Louise was born February 12, 1930 in Mecklenburg County to the late Charles Calvin Simpson and Letha Mae Tucker Simpson. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Charles, Frank and Loyd Simpson; and sisters, Brenda Hitchcock, Margaret Hill, and Josephine Kizer.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM, Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Love's Grove UMC, 4360 Polk Ford Road, Stanfield. The funeral service officiated by Rev. Jim White will follow at 1:00 PM at Love's Grove UMC. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Homer Kenneth Blackwelder of Midland; daughter, Debbie Heath and husband Rudi of Stanfield, NC, stepson Jerry Blackwelder and wife Bonnie of Lexington NC
Louise had worked as a supervisor for Penn Carol, Fairmont and Willis Hosiery Mills in Mt. Pleasant and Concord. She was a member of Love's Grove United Methodist Church of Stanfield.
