Louise (Lucy) Mauney Linker, age 97, went to be with her Lord and Savior August 3, 2015. She was at her home with family members at her bedside.
She was a homemaker after retiring from the hosiery mill and her family was her life. She and Paul were their rock and served as an example of what love, faith and family meant. She and Paul are never to be forgotten. She enjoyed watching racing, and especially Dale Earnhardt, Sr.
She and Paul married January 7, 1942 and they shared 54 wonderful years together. Paul & Lucy raised five children, Billie Faggart, Paul (B.J.), Jeannette Lefler (George Spence), Patti (J.P.) Light and Dale Ritchie.
In addition to her children, Lucy is survived by 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, one great-grandchild-to-be and one great-great-grandchild-to-be, many nieces and nephews, innumerable friends that loved & admired her and became her extended family, and her cat Sweetie.
Lucy was preceded in death by her husband Paul, granddaughter Maci Putnal, son-in-law Steve Ritchie, her parents Frank and Jeannette Mauney, brothers Frank & Albert, sisters Zora, Flora, Zula, Anne, Rachel, and Minnie Belle.
The family wishes to thank her caregivers over the last five years: Anna Linker, beloved niece, and Roxie Cornelison.
Her first church was Mission Baptist, then many years at Mt. Olivet Methodist, and her long membership at Rocky River Presbyterian Church (where she was the oldest member).
Funeral will be at Rocky River Presbyterian Church on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 11:00 am. with arrangements provided by Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord, N.C. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Rocky River Presbyterian Church or your favorite charity.
