Louise Swaringen

Louise Simpson Swaringen, 82 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Friday, February 21, 2014 at Spring Arbor of Albemarle where she had been a resident for over three years. Mrs.Swaringen was born September 17, 1931 in South Carolina to the late Walter Harvey Simpson, Sr. and the late Mary Charlotte Byrd Simpson. She was married to her childhood sweetheart for 55 years, James Paul "J. P." Swaringen, Jr., who preceded her in death in 2006. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Paula Louise Swaringen; brothers, Walter Simpson, Jr and H.D. Byrd; and sister, Hattie Jo Beauchamp. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Wednesday at 3:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Ron Honeycutt. Burial will follow at the Anderson Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 2225 East Main Street, Albemarle. Survivors include daughters, Brenda (Douglas) Drye of Marietta, GA, Bobbie (Ronnie) Dennis of Albemarle, and Sandra (Mitchell) Baldwin of Peyton, CO; and eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. "Miss Louise" will long be remembered as the loving caregiver for many children at her home daycare, Swaringen's Nursery, for over 30 years.
