Lovada Sudie Little Widenhouse, 91 of Concord, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Five Oaks Manor in Concord. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Monday, April 16, 2012 from 10 until 11 am. Funeral services will follow at 11 am in the chapel, with Rev. Merrill Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. Lovada was born on November 24, 1920 in Cabarrus County, to the late E.L. Little and Sudie Viola Morrison Little. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Harry Franklin Widenhouse, sisters Alice Little Love and Sarah Little Whitaker, one niece Martha Love Perry, a grand niece Dawn Perry and a grand nephew Jeffery Goodman. Lovada was born into the congregation of Ann Street United Methodist Church where she was a faithful member participating in the Methodist Women’s organization and in the Sunday School Department, serving as a teacher for many years. She attended Concord High School and worked for Cannon Mills where she retired as a member of the Over-haulers crew. Lovada and her husband enjoyed auctions, estate sales, and having fun with her friends and family. The family would like to thank the staff at both Concord Place and Five Oaks Manor for the care given to her. She is survived by her nieces Kay Love Newton, Delette Love Bost, Betsy Love, and Iris Whitaker; nephews Howard Morrison Whitaker and Donald Eugene Whitaker; and many grand nieces and nephews.
