Lovine Smith

Lovine Burris Smith, 73, of Mt. Pleasant, NC passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Carolinas Medical Center – NorthEast in Concord, NC. She was surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Smith was born October 29, 1937, in Stanly County. She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Isaac Burris, and brother, Don Burris. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 7 – 9 p.m., Friday, July 1, at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel of Concord officiated by Rev. Corey Alley. Interment will follow in Cabarrus Memorial Gardens of Concord. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Quince Floyd Smith, of the home; mother, Margaret Kathleen Shoe Burris of Mt. Pleasant; daughters, Donna Smith Penninger and husband, Kenny, of Concord and Robin Smith Rutherford and husband, Joe, of Coppell Texas; grandchildren, Matt and Nate Penninger and Ryan Rutherford; and brother, Bob Burris of Winston Salem. Her greatest joy was her grandsons. She was an avid fan of country music, reality television and she was a good cook.
