Florence Lucille Crowell Clontz, 98, of Indian Trail, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Pruitt Health-Union Pointe in Monroe, NC.
Lucille was born December 15, 1920 in Union County to the late Roland Burdette Crowell, Sr. and the late Wilma Harkey Crowell. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by husband, James Paschal Clontz, Sr.; sons, Captain James Paschal Clontz, Jr. and Jackson Burdette Clontz; brothers, Roland Burdette Crowell, Jr., Joe Samuel Crowell, and Tommy Hugh Crowell; and sister, Cleo Crowell Horne.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 20, 2019 from 2:00 - 2:45 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland, 13575 Broadway Avenue. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the chapel, officiated by Rev. Brian Austin. Burial will conclude at the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery, 420 Hopewell Church Rd., Monroe.
Survivors include son, Joel Banks (Sherry) Clontz of Indian Trail; daughter-in-law, Jane Wade; sisters, Joyce Derrick, Eloise Ellis, and Jeanne Russell of Indian Trail; granchildren, Michelle Clontz, Jennifer Clontz Privette, Emily Clontz Greywoode, Shannon Rushing, Kelly Rushing, and Claire Pressley McClamrock; great-grandchildren, Amelia Rose Clontz, James Privette, Luke Privette, Asa Privette, Elias Privette, Audrey Greywoode, Vivienne Greywoode, Brady Rushing, Nolan Rushing and Miller Jane McClamrock.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to (NAMI) National Alliance of Mental Illness, Monroe Chapter, 309 West Millbrook Road, Suite 121, Raleigh, NC. 27609-4394.
