Luke Cornett

Edward Luke Cornett, 77, of Monroe, NC passed away on Monday, August 5, 2019. He was born in Watauga County on March 16, 1942 to the late Abraham Cornett and Arai Love. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Loraine Cornett.

The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday August 8, 2019 with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Both will be held at Shiloh Advent Christian Church, 3601 Sikes Mill Road, Monroe, NC 28110. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Luke is survived by his son, Mark Cornett; daughter, Christy Cornett; grandson, Adam Palmer and wife, Erika; and great-grandchildren; Saylor Palmer,  Berkley Palmer, Wellington Palmer and Chloe Cornett.

A faithful servant of God, Ed devoted his life to sharing the love he received from Christ with all whose lives he touched. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Ed loved spending time helping others in the community with his Computer Help business, playing outside with his great-grandchildren and watching old western movies.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to be made to Hospice of Union County, 700 West Roosevelt Blvd. Monroe NC 28110.
