Lula Greene

Lula Talbert Greene, 90, of Oak Grove Road, Stanfield, N.C., passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at her home. Mrs. Greene was born December 4, 1919, in Stanly County. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Walter Jason Greene, Sr., who passed away in 1999; father, James Chapman Talbert; mother, Ella Mattie Burgess Talbert; grandchildren, Cindy Ford and Ronald Ford, Jr.; three brothers and three sisters. A member of Kinza since 1944, she loved her church, her family, and her flowers, especially roses. Visitation will be Friday, June 18, 2010, 7 – 9 p.m., at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. At other times, the family will meet at her home. The funeral will be Saturday, 4:00 p.m., with a 30 minute state, at Kinza Memorial Baptist Church, Stanfield. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Dr. Darrell Nance and Rev. Don Ingle will officiate. Survivors include W. J. Greene, Jr., and wife, Alice, of Stanfield; daughters, Yvonne Crump and husband, Bill, of Stanfield, Ella Mae Ford and husband, Ronnie, of Concord, Wanda Allen and husband, Don, of Midland, Delaine Eudy and husband, Darnell, of Stanfield; sisters, Lillie Huneycutt of Albemarle and Nellie Hinson of Locust; grandchildren, Sherry Ford Sloop, Billy Greene, Angie Greene Barbee, Michael Eudy, Krista Eudy Kelly, and Chad Crump; and seven great-grandchildren.
