Luther Lee Smith, age 68 of 22024 Oakwood Road, Albemarle, North Carolina 28001, passed away on August 06, 2010 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle. Born in Stanly County on April 20, 1942. Luther Smith was preceded in death by his father Boone Gaddy Smith. Visitation will be Sunday, August 8, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. Funeral service will be Sunday, August 8, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle, Rev. Ron Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory on Monday, August 9, 2010 at 1 p.m. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. First St. Albemarle, NC 28001. The family will meet at his home. Luther Smith is survived by his wife Glenda Mae Stamper Smith of Albemarle; mother; Omar Lee Benton Smith of Albemarle; his step sons,Scott Stuart of Norwood, Jimmy Hatley of Mt. Pleasant; his sister Betty Thompson of Norwood and brothers, Cecil Smith of Albemarle, Bill Smith of Albemarle, David Smith of Albemarle, Roy Smith of Albemarle, and Danny Smith of Wadesboro; two granddaughters, 1 grandson and 1 great grandson.
