Lynne Polk Kessler, 61, of Midland, NC passed away Monday, June 19, 2023 peacefully in her home in Midland.
She was born February 22, 1962 in Charlotte, North Carolina to H.R. Polk and the late Shirley Houston Polk. Lynne was also preceded in death by her sister Tonya Moore, grandparents Mulder & Myrtle Polk, and George & Louise Houston.
She graduated from Piedmont High School in 1980 and went on to pursue a career in the banking industry as a loan officer at Blue Flame Credit Union. She was a loyal employee for over 25 years and her impact left an impression there years after her departure.
If you had to choose one word to define who Lynne was, it would be devoted; devout in her faith and devoted to her family and friends. Her faith was unshakable, she went through more trials in her life than most and yet she never wavered in her faith; she trusted God’s plan and was an incredible example for other believers. She was the glue that held her family together, she always put her family first without regard for herself. She loved them fiercely, especially “her girls” (because you can’t talk about Lynne without mentioning how much her daughters meant to her). If you were lucky enough to be a close friend of Lynne’s, you became her family too. She always showed up for them and no amount of time or miles apart could ever change that. She was a remarkable woman that shined a light on everyone she met.
The memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 2:30 pm at Hopewell Baptist Church – Legacy Campus.
