Madge Simmons

Madge Simmons, age 94, of Albemarle, passed away on Friday, February 22, 2013 at Stanly Manor. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle on Monday, February 25, 2013 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm. The funeral service, officiated by Dr. Darrin Moore and Rev. Donald Johnson, will be at Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lelfer Memorial Chapel on Monday, February 25, 2013 at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park. Madge was born on August 23, 1918, to the late George Efird and the late Annie Efird. She is also preceded in death by her husband, H. Ardell Simmons. She is survived by her son, Gene Simmons and wife Kay of Denver, and Boyd “Blue” Simmons and wife Frances of Hemby Bridge; four grandchildren, Lisa Chidester and husband Nathan, Neal Simmons and wife Carol, Pam Simpson and husband Bryine, and Tracy Moore and husband Darrin; and seven great grandchildren. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Simmons family.
