Marco Falco, 87, of Concord, passed away on February, 28, 2013 at Avante of Concord. The family will receive friends at St. James the Greater Catholic Church 139 Manor Avenue SW Concord from 10 until 11 am on Monday, March 4, 2013. Services will follow at 11 am, with Father Dionne officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis. Mr. Falco was born on April 25, 1925 in Capriati, Al Volturno, Italy, to the late Domenico Falco and Maria Carmina Bucci Falco. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years Frencesca Forte Falco in January of this year, sisters; Maria Tella, and Anna Falco, brothers; Vincenzo, Rocco, Nicola, and Nicandro Falco. Mr. Falco worked in Rome for 15 years. In 1966 he moved to Providence, Rhode Island in the United States where he worked for 24 years with Durestone as a mason. In 2007, he moved to North Carolina to be closer to his family. He was always a hard worker with his hands. He was passionate for animals, working in his yard and vegetable garden. He was known for growing the biggest tomatoes in town. Sunday dinner was always a special time with family and good wine. Spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren was very special to him and he was a father figure for two of his grandchildren. He is survived by his, sister; Ida Maddalena of Rhode Island, daughters; Giovannna Freston and husband Curtis of Concord, and Lucia Falco of Concord, Grandchildren; David, Melanie, Rebecca and husband Mikey, and Christina, and great grandchildren; Emma and Olivia.
