Margaret Barbee

Margaret Louise Smith Barbee, 93, of Locust, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, April 16, 2022.

Louise was born December 31, 1928 in Red Cross, Stanly County to the late Millard Milton Smith and the late Rettie Brattain Smith.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Velt "Bud" Barbee, and eleven brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her sons, Doug Barbee (Karris) and Alan Barbee (Lori); daughter, Kendra Tucker (Gary); five grandchildren; and four great-grandsons.

Louise enjoyed quilting, canning produce from the garden, and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed teaching Sunday School at Bethel Baptist Church where she was a member.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm, Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Bethel Baptist Church. The funeral service will immediately follow on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Bethel Baptist Church in Locust officiated by Rev. Brian Bolding. Burial will follow at the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery at 617 Bethel Church Rd., Locust.
