Margaret Bogle

August 15, 1936 — November 18, 2015

Margaret "Peggy" Ray Bogle, 79 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2015 surrounded by family at Forrest Oakes Healthcare Center in Albemarle.


Mrs. Bogle was born August 15, 1936 in Pennsylvania to the late Robert Edwin Ray and the late Meda Robinson Ray . She was also preceded in death by her brother, Ed Ray .


Peggy was a retired nurse from Stanly Regional Medical Center. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an active member of First Street United Methodist Church. She volunteered her time with church activities, Meals on Wheels, and Stanly County Senior Center. She was a member of the Singing Americans of Stanly County. Peggy enjoyed sharing her beautiful talents of knitting and crocheting prayer shawls and other items with family, friends and charitable organizations.


The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM , Saturday, November 21, 2015 at First Street United Methodist Church, 509 North First Street, Albemarle . The funeral service will follow in the church sanctuary at 11:00 AM officiated by Rev. Monte Clark and Rev. Leslee Wray. Burial will follow at the Stanly Gardens of Memory at 2001 East Main St., Albemarle.


Survivors include husband, Max Hines Bogle of Albemarle, daughter, Pam Hurt and husband Mark of Graham, sons, Benton Bogle and wife Alice of Burlington, and Brad Bogle and wife Christy of Norwood, granddaughters, Sarah Bogle Cone and husband David-Michael, Anita Bogle, Maggie Bogle, Courtney Hurt, Abby Bogle, and Landis Bogle, grandsons, Jared Hurt and Max C. Bogle, brother, Robert F. Ray and wife Judy of GA, and sister-in-law, June Ray of Waynesville.


Memorials may be made to First Street United Methodist Church, 509 North First Street, Albemarle, NC 28001 or Hospice of Stanly County and the Uwharrie, 960 North First Street, Albemarle, NC 28001
