Margaret Brooks

Margaret Anne Reap Brooks, 92 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Forrest Oakes Healthcare Center in Albemarle.
Margaret was born May 17, 1924 in Stanly County to the late Hoyle Edgar Reap and the late Jecolia McCauley Reap.
She was also preceded in death by her husband Jack Martin Brooks and two brothers, Edgar Martin Reap and John Martin Reap.
Margaret graduated from Albemarle High School and earned multiple degrees from Duke University as well as the Julliard School of Music. She held positions at Burlington Industries, Charlotte Memorial Hospital and Beaufort County.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 12:45 pm, Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The graveside service will be on Wednesday at 1:00 pm at Fairview Memorial Park, 1425 East Main Street in Albemarle. Rev. Jim Yow of Central United Methodist Church will officiate.
Survivors include one son, Jeffrey (Kim Whitaker Brooks) Brooks of Apex, NC; and two grandchildren, Justin and Evan Brooks. SHe is also survived by 8 nieces, 3 nephews, as well as sisters-in-law Juanita Reap of Rock Hill, SC and Barbara Snuggs Reap of Albemarle, NC.
