Margaret Hatley

Margaret Morton Hatley, age 88 of 16500 NC 73 Hwy, Albemarle, North Carolina 28001, passed away on August 7, 2011 at Lutheran Home of Albemarle in Albemarle. Her funeral will be at 11 AM Thursday August 11, 2011 in Plyer Baptist Church, where she is a member. The Rev. Brian Franklin will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Born in Stanly County on February 2, 1923 to the late CL and Mary Harwood Morton, she was a retired supervisor from the Knitsters Inc. and a loving homemaker. Margaret Hatley is survived by her husband, John Tilman Hatley of Albemarle, two children, Janice Fesperman and husband Forrest of Durham and Reggie Allen Hatley and wife Vickie of Albemarle; two brothers, C.L. Morton, Jr. and wife Nell of Chapel Hill and Jim Morton and wife Annette of Cornelius; two sisters, Betty Mabry of Albemarle, and the late Mary Burris Stoots of New London; grandsons, Allen Hatley and wife Jennifer, and Matthew Hatley all of Albemarle; two granddaughters, Margaret Jane Fesperman of Lakeland FL and Susan Fesperman and husband Kyle Luthy of San Diego, CA; and three great-grandchildren Tanner Hatley, Tilman Hatley and Addison Hatley. The family will receive friends at the fellowship hall following the burial. At other times they will be at her home. Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Home, 24724 US Highway 52 S., Albemarle, NC 28001, or Plyer Baptist Church Cemetery, 25958 Austin Road, Plyler NC 28001.
