Margaret Ellis Jenkins, 88 years of age, of Oakboro, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016 at her home.
Margaret was born March 8, 1928 in Shelby, NC, to the late Sam Ellis and the late Bessie Hall Ellis. She was also preceded in death by husband of 44 years, William Henry Jenkins; brother, Samuel Lee Ellis; and three sisters, Nadine Brown, Bettie Jordan, and Raye McMurry.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. and will be officiated by Dr. Terrell Watts. A graveside service, officiated by Rev. Glenn Walker, will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Patterson Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, 2107 Cleveland Avenue, Grover, NC 28073.
Survivors include son, Craig (Dana) Jenkins of Oakboro; granddaughter, Jessica Jenkins of Durham; grandson, Daniel Jenkins of Greensboro; brother, Joe (Margaret) Ellis of Shelby; sister-in-law Sherrill Jenkins of Shelby; and numerous nieces and nephews.
