Margaret Long

Margaret Louise Long, 87, of Concord, went to be with the Lord and reunited with Worth on Monday, February 21, 2022 at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.

Margaret loved her family. She was a loving wife to Worth and the best mom and grandma you could ask for. Her hobbies were sewing, gardening and watching the birds.

Margaret was born November 12, 1934 in Cabarrus County, North Carolina to the late Ralph Houstin Burris and the late Virgie Beatrice Burris.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Worth Gene Long; brother, Larry Burris; and sister, Mary Francis Rice.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 12:45 pm, Friday, February 25, 2022 at Faith Baptist Church, Kannapolis. The funeral service will be on Friday at 1:00 pm at Faith Baptist Church, Kannapolis at 904 Chipola St, Kannapolis, NC, officiated by Pastor James Pauley and Pastor Quentin Long, grandson. Burial will follow at the Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery at 4695 Mount Pleasant Road South, Concord.

Survivors include daughters, Deborah Jean (Lynn) Lewis, Cherry Lynn (Robert) Noblitt Jr., Tina Louise (Gary) Fayne; sons, Jeffrey Wayne (Margaret) Long, Michael Worth (Tammy) Long, and Philip Ashley Long; 17 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Cress and Ruth (B.J.) Wright.
