Margaret Ann Starnes, 70, is now with her Lord as of Monday, November 28, 2016. She was at home receiving services from Hospice.

Margaret was born October 29, 1946 in Charlotte, NC to the late Coy Lee Turner and the late Pearlie Mae Elmore. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Richard Turner.

Survivors include husband, Kenneth Ray Starnes of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Cynthia and husband Christopher Blanton of Denver, NC, daughter Tammy and husband Darren Riddick of Concord, NC; grandchildren, Hayden Blanton, Austin Blanton, Grayson Blanton, Savannah Blanton, Niki Walk, Lanie Walk and Jackson Riddick; sister Betty Daugherty; brothers Clyde Turner, Johnny Turner, Lester Turner.

Margaret was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a very kind, generous woman who was an inspiration and loved by all who knew her. She had a strong Christian faith and after a long courageous battle with cancer, was ready to meet her Lord Jesus.

She retired from the Davey Tree Expert Company where she worked for the world’s greatest boss, Ray Betz. The family wants to say a special thanks to Dr. Misra and staff at Oncology Specialists of Charlotte, also Novant Health and Novant Hospice.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 10am-11am at Newell Baptist Church, 9115 Newell Baptist Church Road, Charlotte, NC 28213. The funeral service will immediately follow, officiated by Rev. Scott Keith. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cancer Research Foundation.
