Margaret Swacker

Margaret Odessa Kennedy Swacker, age 93, died peacefully on July 2, 2019 at Forrest Oakes Nursing Home, Albemarle, NC.

She was the daughter of Theodore William and Daisy Perry Kennedy.  She was born on April 21, 1926 in Mecklenburg County, NC. She lived in Charlotte for 79 years before moving to Stanfield, NC in 2003.
Margaret is preceded in death by Boyd, her husband of 65 years, her daughter Sylvia Turner, and seven older siblings.

The visitation will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The Funeral, officiated by Rev. Jim White, will be at 11:00am on Monday, July 8, 2019 at Love's Grove United Methodist Church in Stanfield. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Surviving family include her daughter Anne Davis (Bob) of Stanfield; her son Steve (Lynn) of N. Myrtle Beach, SC; her son-in-law Jim Turner of Mooresville, NC; grandchildren Bobby Davis and Tonya Martin of Stanfield, Mike Turner of Denver, NC, Mark Turner of Weddington, NC, and Keith Swacker of Ft. Worth,TX; eight great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Margaret worked in retail for 40+ years.  She retired from Dillards Department Stores. She loved crafts, particularly needlepoint and self-initiated creations.  She was always giving family and friends the products of her labor-of-love. Margaret was a member of Love’s Grove United Methodist Church in Stanfield.
