Marie Burris

Lois Marie Harris Burris, 90, of Albemarle, passed away at the home of her daughter, Diane Anderson on Saturday morning, January 26, 2019. She was born May 25, 1928 in Oakboro, to the late Lee and Lilly Harris. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Claudie Harding Burris.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM, Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church at 22182 Canton Road, Albemarle. A funeral service will be held in the church sanctuary at 2:30 PM officiated by Elder Ritchie Broadway. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Marie was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother and she touched the lives of all those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by James Lee Harris, Joe Laine Harris, Alton Wayne Harris, Kay Ann Hancock, Carol Frances Morgan, Mary Ellen Harris, and Edna Ruth Harris.

Survivors include daughters, Diane Anderson (David) of Albemarle, Debbie Tucker (Ronnie) of Oakboro, Claudine Burris of Albemarle, Claudette Burris of Albemarle; four grandchildren Dana Anderson Chaney (Kevin) of Albemarle, Steve Tucker (Adie) of Locust, Daniel Anderson (Abigail) of Wichita, KS, Chris Tucker of Oakboro; seven great grandchildren, Cody Tucker, Connor Tucker, Jaxon Tucker, Laney Tucker, Jonah Chaney, Lois Chaney, and Matthew Chaney; great great grandchild Paxton Tucker; brothers, Bobby Allen Harris, Lemuel Junior Harris, Dean Clay Harris, and sister, Dixie Jane Harris.

The family will be at her home on Burris Road prior to the funeral services.
