Marie Hancock

Marie Hancock, 77, of Harrisburg, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

Marie was born January 10, 1943 in Charlotte to the late Harry and Lois Thompson.  She was also preceded in death by sisters, Pat Greene and Judy Burnette; and brother, Ray Lanier.

Marie was a devoted Christian and a member of New Life Church in Concord.  She was always bubbly and helpful.  Marie never met a stranger and was a great leader.  She was a loving mother, sister and grandmother.  Marie will be dearly missed and forever loved.

Survivors include son, Jeff Hancock and wife, Shelley, of Locust; daughter, Kim Cox of Monroe; son, Robbie Hancock, Jr. of Gold Hill; sister, Jane Dixon and husband, Bill, of Harrisburg; sister, Lynda Thompson of Columbia, SC; brother, Gary Thompson of Charlotte; grandson, Jeffrey Cox, Jr. and wife, Marsha; granddaughter, Jennifer Hancock; grandson, Clint Fisher and wife, Heather; granddaughter, Emma Hancock; granddaughter, Martha Suarez and husband, Alex; grandson, Robert Hancock; grandson, Shane Hancock; Great-grandchildren, Bryan, Braysen, and Brynlee Hancock, Hayden and Lorelei Suarez, and Weston Fisher.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg.  The funeral service will be on Wednesday at 1:00 pm at New Life Church of Jesus Christ, 4160 Zion Church Rd, Concord, officiated by Rev. Lawson Whitson.  Burial will follow at the Carolina Memorial Park Kannapolis.
