Marie Little

Marie S. Little, age 88 of Albemarle, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Stanly Regional Medical Center. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 10, 2011 at 4pm at Stanly Gardens of Memory. Mrs. Little was born in Stanly County on September 15, 1923 to the late Grover Cleveland and Milie Curlee Smith. She is also preceded in death by her son, Curt Allen Little. She is survived by a daughter, Susie L. Johnson of Albemarle; grandchildren, Blair Johnson-Schadt and Andrew Johnson both of Albemarle, and Kristi M. Treptow of Charlotte; great-grandchildren, Zachary Drew Baker and Piper Kensey Treptow. In 2004, she was the recipient of the Order of the Long Leaf Pine Award, which is North Carolina’s highest civil honor. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. 1st Street, Albemarle, NC 28001. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Little family.
