Marie Teeter

Marie Allen Teeter, 83 of Oakboro, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2012 in Carolinas Medical Center in Concord. Mrs. Teeter was born January 5, 1929 in Stanly County to the late Arthur Benjamin Allen and Maybelle Curlee Allen. She was a homemaker and helped her husband, Clinton, on the farm while their children were growing up. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. The funeral service will be at 6 p.m., Sunday, with a 30 minute state prior to the service, at First Baptist Church in Oakboro officiated by Rev. Dr. Terrell Watts. Burial will follow in the Oakboro Cemetery. At other times, the family will meet at her home. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, James Clinton Teeter, of the home; her sons, Hoyt Teeter and his wife, Sherri, of Oakboro, Chad Teeter and his wife, Angie, of Oakboro, and Reid Teeter of Salisbury; her daughter, Lisa Notaro and her husband, Joe, of Charlotte; her sisters, Margaret Burgess of Oakboro and Ruby Tucker of Locust; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Billy Graham Library, 4330 Westmont Drive, Charlotte, NC 28217. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Teeter family.
