Marion "Sonny" Julius Hill, 75 years of age, of Charlotte, NC passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Royal Park Rehabilitation and Health Center in Matthews.
Sonny was born October 16, 1941 in Stanly County, NC to the late James Alton Hill and the late Ola Aletha Huneycutt Hill. He was also preceded in death by sisters Ramona Mae Hill and Kathleen Hill Brooks; as well as brother in laws Hobert D. Brooks and Bobby E. Garmon.
Survivors include his son Mark Shannon Hill of Stanfield; sisters, Thelma Hill West of Royston, GA, Phyllis Hill Garmon of Midland, and Brenda Hill Eudy (Coy) of Locust; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Sonny enjoyed traveling with his senior group from Eastway Baptist Church. He also enjoyed eating at the Landmark Restaurant where he made many friends. Sonny will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Eastway Baptist Church, 2749 Eastway Drive in Charlotte. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 am, officiated by Rev. Johnny Helms. Burial will then follow at 1:30pm at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, 617 Bethel Church Road in Locust.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eastway Baptist Church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Royal Park Rehabilitation and Health Center for their love and compassion.
