Marjorie Maslar

Marjorie "Midge" Louise Furman Maslar, 81, of Charlotte, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at Novant Health in Huntersville, NC.

Marjorie was born August 23, 1942, in Windsor, New York, to Douglas Homer Furman and Margaret Roberta Crocker Furman. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, and many loving aunts.

As a child in upstate New York, Marjorie would visit her grandparents’ farm, where her brother, Doug, befriended the neighbor boy, Jerry. It wasn’t long before Jerry and Midge began to notice each other. They fell in love and were married for 63 years.

Marjorie loved to nurture her family and friends. She had a servant’s heart, with generosity to match. She volunteered with the Senior Adult ministry, “The Jolly Sixties,” and with the Crisis Pregnancy Center.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Gerald "Jerry" R. Maslar of Charlotte, NC; daughters, Lisa (Steve) Hyde and Valerie Sliker; son, Stephen (Carleen) Maslar; 8 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Our beloved Marjorie will be laid to rest at Gethsemane Cemetery and Memorial Gardens in Charlotte, during a private committal service, officiated by Rev. Bo Riley.
