Mark Edward Poirier

Mark Edward Poirier, loving husband and father, was called to the Lord on September 5th, 2023. 

He was born in Connecticut on November 11th, 1953. He grew up in Connecticut and graduated from Lewis S. Mills in Burlington. He furthered his education in Hartford at Computer Processing Institute. He married his soulmate, Lizabeth Poirier, on June 16th, 1979 in Avon, Connecticut. Shortly after marriage, they moved to Maine. During the 17 years in Maine, they were blessed to have two sons. To further his career, they moved to North Carolina to further his education in information security. He retired in 2015 and pursued his real passion in organic farming. He loved and enjoyed music, woodworking, boating, hunting, fishing, beekeeping, and vacationing in Maine, but most importantly, was spending time with family and watching his grandchildren grow.

Survivors include wife, Lizabeth Poirier of Mt. Pleasant, North Carolina; son, Matthew (Amanda) and their son Eli Poirier; son, Jason (Brianna) and their daughter Jeslynn Poirier of Mt. Pleasant, North Carolina; mother, Elinor Poirier of Mt. Pleasant; sister, Joanne Neuhausser of Burlington, Connecticut; brother, Brian Poirier of Torrington, Connecticut; and four nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive family and friends at New Life Church of Jesus Christ, 4160 Zion Church Rd, Concord, NC 28025 on Saturday, September 16th, 2023 from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm. The eulogy will follow at 3:00 pm.
