Mark Clinton Stroupe, 52, of Stanfield, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013 in Mississippi. Mr. Stroupe was born February 27, 1961 in Gaston County to the late Paul Baine Stroupe and Martha Laverne Emmett Stroupe. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jeff Stroupe. Mark was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church in Stanfield, where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He worked as a truck driver for Shoe Show. He loved spending time with his granddaughter, and enjoyed fishing at the Outer Banks. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. The funeral service will be at 11:00 Monday, May 20, at Philadelphia Baptist Church, 12495 Philadelphia Church Road, Stanfield, with a 30 minute state prior to the service. Rev. Dwight Mabry will officiate with burial to follow in the church cemetery. At other times, the family will meet at the home. Survivors include his loving wife of 33 years, Tana Lynette Drye Stroupe, of the home; his son, Landon Stroupe and his wife, Hannah, of Norwood; his daughter, Amber Green and her husband, Jody, of Stanfield; his brother, Torben Stroupe of Oakboro; and his granddaughter, Haley Stroupe.
