Marshall Blackwelder

Marshall Allen Blackwelder, 85 of 4215 Poplar Tent Road Concord, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends at Broadus Memorial Baptist Church 59 Green Street SW Concord on Saturday, November 5, 2011 from 10 until 11 am. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 am at the church, with Rev. Rodney Quesenberry officiating. Burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery with military rites performed by The Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard. At other times the family will meet at the home of a son Jerry 2070 Simplicity Road Concord. Marshall was born on November 9, 1925 in Cabarrus County to the late B.A. and Diana Fink Blackwelder. He was also preceded in death by his wife Lottie Mae Ella Blackwelder Blackwelder in 2007. He is survived by: sons, Jerry Blackwelder and wife Jean of Concord, Clifford Blackwelder and wife Debra of Charlotte Courthouse, VA, and Howard Blackwelder and wife Mary Jo of Concord; daughters, Dorothy Kennedy and husband Paul of Concord and Rebecca Blackwelder of Townsend, TN; sister, Louise White of Kannapolis; twelve grandchildren; twenty two great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
