Martha Barbee

Martha Jane "Janie" Barbee, 83 years of age, of Locust, passed away Monday, March 3, 2014 at Trinity Place in Albemarle. Mrs Barbee was born May 5, 1930 in Cabarrus to the late Daniel Dexter Starnes and the late Mary Christine Starnes. She was also preceded in death by husband, Stancil Jackson Barbee. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home - Midland. The funeral service will be on Friday at 3:30 pm at Carolina Presbyterian Church in Locust, officiated by Rev. Patrick Womack. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Survivors include son, Stan Barbee and wife Crystal of Locust; sister, Dorothy "Polly" Pauline Helms of Oakboro, sister, Nezi Renee Austin; and granddaughter, Ragen Elizabeth Barbee.
