Martha Furr

Martha “Verlee” Nance Furr, 72, of 1012 Rockland Circle Concord passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at her home. Born on May 17, 1938 in Cabarrus County to the late Milard Clide and Ola Virginia Hill Nance. She is also preceded in death by daughter Vonnie Lynn Furr and a sister Arlene Wilson. Mrs. Furr was a member of First Assembly Church, and was a cook there at the First Assembly School. The family meeting place will be the home at 1012 Rockland Circle Concord. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Concord on Friday, September 17, 2010 from 6 until 8 PM. Funeral services will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Concord Chapel on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 2 PM, with the Rev. Tom Whidden and Rev. Ray Helms officiating. Burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery. She was survived by; husband, William Franklin “Bill” “Nootz” Furr, Sr. of the home; sons, William Franklin Furr, Jr. of Harrisburg, Michael Furr and wife Connie Lynn of New London; daughter, Connie Elizabeth Furr of China Grove; sister, Macene Deaton of Concord; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.
