Martha Goodman

Martha Jane Furr Goodman, 80 years of age of Midland, passed away Friday, September 14, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center in Concord. Mrs. Goodman was born November 28, 1931 in Cabarrus County to the late James Smith Furr and Geneva Paraline Hathcock Furr. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Goodman. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. The family will receive friends from 12 – 2 p.m., Monday, Sept. 17, at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel in Midland officiated by Rev. Tom Gibbs. Burial will follow in the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include her daughter, Tammy Goodman Love and her husband, Rodney, of Monroe; her brother, James Furr of Unionville; her sister, Melda McSwain of Louisburg; and three grandchildren, Tanna, Ryan, and Madalyn Love. Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Goodman family.
