Martha Kee

Martha Kee, 104 years of age, of Concord, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at her home.

Martha was born March 21, 1911 in Concord, NC to the late Richard Mabrey and the late Addie Bost Mabrey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John David Kee; grandsons William Gregory Wherry and Matthew Faggart; and great grandson Joshua Buck.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:30am on Friday, December 4th at Poplar Tent Presbyterian Church in Concord. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:30am, officiated by Rev. Clark Remsburg, Jr. and Rev. Robert Palisin. Burial will take place at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

Survivors include her sons, John C. Kee and wife Shelby; Roy B. Kee; Jack R. Kee and wife Lottie; Gary D. Kee and wife Shirley; daughters, Ruth K. Wherry; Helen K. McClellan; Doris O. Kee; Jewel Kee; Kathleen Kee and husband Don; grandchildren Robin Erickson, Jeffery Wherry, Wanda Chilson, Pamela Misenheimer, Jackie Barnette, Jennifer Kee, Tamara Blume, Anita Haskins, Laura Medlin, Michael Kee, Brian Kee and Chuck Farthing; great grandchildren Ezekiel Wherry, Shannon Guilmette, Rachel Buck, Brianna Misenheimer, Brantley Barnette, Katelyn Boger, Courtney Boger, Grady Tate, Claire Tate, Brennan Haskins, Gracyn Haskins, Ethan Medlin, Avery Medlin, Destin Kee and Jaxson Kee; as well as great great grandchildren Gregory Wherry, Gabriel Wherry, Cheyenne Guilmette, Henry Guilmette and Sawyer Guilmette.

Martha was a lifetime member of Poplar Tent Presbyterian Church, and was a recipient of the Presbyterian Women Lifetime Membership award. She was a devoted mother of nine children. Martha was an accomplished seamstress. She also loved gardening and her flowers.
