Martha Lane

Mrs. Martha Bright Lane, 97, was received in her Lord's arms, Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Best of Care, Kannapolis, NC

Martha was a devoted member of Harrisburg Baptist Church, Harrisburg, NC. She was loved by her church family, who will always remember her coconut pies and beautiful flowers in her yard.

Martha was a loving wife, mother, nannie, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend.

She is survived by her son, William H. Lane, Jr. (Judy) of Matthews, NC; two daughters, Bettie Ann Turner of Texas and Nancy Lane Hunt (Elmer) of Harrisburg, NC; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband, William Hardy Lane, Sr.; her parents, I.D. Bright and Allie Asbell Bright; two sisters, Addie Duck and Irene Moore; brother, I.D. Bright, Jr.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2015 from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord, with the funeral immediately following at 1:00 pm in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Billy Clevenger and Rev Bruce Pope officiating. Burial will take place at Sharon Memorial Gardens, Charlotte, NC.

Family gathering place will be the home of Nancy & Elmer Hunt, Harrisburg, NC.

Heartfelt thanks to the wonderful caregivers at Best of Care and Hospice who took care of Martha while she was in their care.
