Martha Mckinley

Martha McKinley, 62, of Midland, NC, departed this life peacefully Sunday, June 13, 2010, in her home. She was surrounded at the end by her loving family. Mrs. McKinley was born August 17, 1947, in Ulster County, New York. She graduated in 1967 with a degree in Nursing and devoted herself to that trade for many years in both New York and North Carolina. In later years she was the Director of Nursing Care for several Nursing Homes in Florida. Throughout it all she volunteered with the Church and several Crisis Assistant Ministries giving her time and energy unselfishly. Marti brought great joy to others through her love for Christ and those around her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Edward McNicolas and Jane Samson McNicolas. She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” John McKinley; sister, Donna Ruth McNicolas of Georgia; sons, Don Hanson and wife, Debi, of Huntersville, Jim Hanson of Charlotte, Richard Hanson of New York, Roy Hanson of New York; and daughter, Debbie Paladora of Illinois. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 19th, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., at United Love Baptist Church, Midland, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Reverend Marvin Tyson will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC, 28081, or United Love Baptist Church, 11487 Flowe's Store Road, Midland, North Carolina 28107.
