Marvin Smith

Marvin Cornelius Smith, 86, of Locust, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Atrium-NorthEast in Concord.

Mr. Smith was born June 28, 1932 in Stanly County to the late Chester Dewey Smith and the late Nellie Mae Dick Smith.  He was also preceded in death by wife, Caroleen Smith; and sons, Michael and Scott Smith.

Marvin was an avid hunter and bird watcher. He enjoyed sharing stories and helping others.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 2:00PM - 2:45PM at Bethel Baptist Church, 617 Bethel Church Road, Locust. The funeral service will follow at 3:00PM in the church sanctuary officiated by Pastor Larry Beaver and Pastor Glenn Johnson. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.

Survivors include son, Marvin "Rickey" (Brenda) Smith of Locust; grandchildren, Brandon Smith, Leslie Stephens. Megan Shue, and Laura Smith; six great grandchildren; two sisters and one brother.
