Mary Blackwelder
September 26, 1925 — January 16, 2016
Mary "Sadie" Blackwelder, 90 years of age, of Concord , passed away Saturday, January 16, 2016 at her home.
Mary was born September 26, 1925 in Union County to the late Harry Franklin Mills and Mary Leona Philemon Mills. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Houston Blackwelder.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be Wednesday, January 20, 2016 in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 pm officiated by the Rev. Mike Hubbard. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis.
Survivors include her son, Tony (Peggy) Blackwelder; her grandson, Asa Blackwelder; her great granddaughter, Carley Jo Blackwelder; her sisters, Bertha Smith of Salisbury,NC, Ollie McBride of Charleston, SC, and Barbara Casper of Troy, Texas.
The family thanks the Hospice staff for their care.
