Mary Brooks

Mary Alice Deese Brooks was a much-loved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Born on October 21, 1935, she passed from this world on May 31, 2023, to enter the presence of her Savior.

She was predeceased by her parents, Furman and Elise Deese, her husband, Robert Stowe Brooks, Sr. and finally, her beloved son, Robert Stowe Brooks, Jr.

Mrs. Brooks is survived by her daughter-in-law Pamela York Brooks (Robert Brooks), daughter Mary Brooks Ellis (Jim Ellis), three grandchildren (Ben Brooks, Dan Brooks, and Mary Anna Ellis) as well as six great grandchildren, much loved especially by Abby, Maci and Luke Brooks.

Mrs. Brooks owned and operated a multi-generational family farm. Her presence will be much missed on the farm and by those who love her. A special thank you to her dearest friend, Jane McClellan and to her constant companion, Rosalind Nash.

A Graveside service will be held on Friday, June 2nd, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Love's Grove United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. James White & Rev. Coy Blackmon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Love’s Grove United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 276, Stanfield, NC 28163.
