Mary Lucy Christy, 72, of 6653 Weldon Circle NW, Concord, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2010, at CMC-Northeast. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, January 17 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 18 at Concord Wesleyan Church, where she was a member. The Rev. Michael Covington and the Rev. Ron Rider will officiate. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery. The family will be meeting at the home. She was born October 5, 1937, in Bermuda to the late Antonio Bento and the late Lucy Bento. She worked in packaging at Dennis Carpenter Industries. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother. Survivors include her husband, Robert Wayne Christy, of the home; daughter, Debra Anne Lockemy, of Drexel, NC; four brothers; four sisters; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
