Mary Widenhouse

Mary  Elizabeth Moss Widenhouse, 98, of Concord, NC went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Five Oaks Manor in Concord.

Mrs. Widenhouse was born June 7, 1921 in Cabarrus County, NC to the late Ervin R. Moss and the late Jennie Lee Faggart Moss.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Woodroe Widenhouse; son, James Wayne Widenhouse; brothers, James Leroy Moss, Raymond Moss, Carl Moss,  Hoy Moss, Coy Moss, John Moss and Willie "Bill" Moss; sisters, Ruth Moss Allman and Nadine Moss Whitley; as well as her step-mother Lona Rossetta Faggart Moss.

Survivors include daughter, Brenda Whitley of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Judy Widenhouse Sides of Concord, NC; daughter-in-law, Linda F. Widenhouse Barringer; brother, Bobby E. Moss; six grandchildren Mark Widenhouse, Tonya Clayton, Marilyn and Cynthia Whitley, Brian and Eric Sides; as well as five great-grandchildren; Elizabeth, Stephan, Matthew, Tiffany and Tyler.

Lib was a homemaker, seamstress and had a passion for baking.  She loved to prepare meals for her family and friends. She worked for Hugh Gray Hosiery which become Kayser Roth Hosiery here in Concord.  Lib was also a cafeteria baker at AT Allen School until she retired.

She was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church and Center Grove United Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm - 1:45 pm, Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Pastor Alan Thompson, Jr. and Pastor Jesse Clubb, Jr.  Burial will take place at Cabarrus Memorial Gardens in Concord.
