Mary Godwin

Mary Frances “Tannie” Pennnington Godwin, age 81 of 32423 Pennington Road, Albemarle, passed away on September 18, 2011 at Stanly Regional Medical Center, Albemarle, NC. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 from 7pm until 9pm. At other times, the family will meet at the home of her son, Don Godwin, 32423 Pennington Road, Albemarle. The funeral service will be held at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Albemarle at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2011, officiated by Pastor Tim Sheridan. Burial will follow at Kendalls Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Godwin was born in Guilford County on March 16, 1930, to the late Jettus Edward Pennington and the late Nancy Angeline Niblock. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Gene Godwin and her brother, Don Pennington. She is survived by sons; Don and Gary Godwin, both of Albemarle, daughter; Nancy G. Piquant of Simpsonville, SC; sister, Lois Mullinax of Vero Beach, FL; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
