Mary Harwood

Mary Jewell Morton Harwood, 83 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Bethany Woods Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Albemarle. Mary was born April 30, 1930 in Stanly County to the late Cannon Fetzer Morton and the late Bertha Emmaline Williams Morton. She was also preceded in death in 2001 by husband, Elmond Elwood Harwood; one brother and four sisters. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. The funeral service officiated by Rev. David Pinion will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, March 7, 2014 in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle. Burial will follow at New Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church Cemetery. She is survived by her son, Stanley Morton Harwood and wife, Crystal, of Albemarle; daughter, Amy Pinion and husband, David of Norwood; sister, Trulie Mae Harkey of Spencer; five grandchildren, Chad Drye, Seth Harwood, Stephanie Pinion, Mary Pinion, and Nicholas Pinion; and two great-grandchildren, Connor and Riley Drye.
