Mary Frances Howie, age 94, of Harrisburg, passed away on October 17, 2009 at Carolinas Medical Center - Northeast.
Born in Harrisburg on May 2, 1915, she was a retired inspector with Cannon Mills, and was an active member of Rocky River Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband William McKee Howie, father Robert Arthur Miller, mother Emma Miller Alexander, and brother William Fred Alexander.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 from 2:30 to 3:30 pm at Rocky River Presbyterian Church. The funeral will follow at the church at 3:30 pm with the Rev. Dr. Kyle Hite officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Howie was survived by her nephews Bob Alexander and wife Gail of Charlotte and Bill Alexander and wife Julie of Harrisburg; her niece Carol Alexander Lyerly and husband Jim of Harrisburg; her sister-in-law Iris Alexander of Harrisburg; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
The family will be meeting at the home of Jim and Carol Lyerly, 2772 Cedar Cove Dr., Harrisburg.
