Mary Keegan

Mary Jude Giroux Keegan, 60, of Albemarle, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2021.

Mary Jude was born September 5, 1960 in Albany, New York to the late Raymond Giroux and the late Elizabeth Barber Giroux.

The family will receive friends from  6:00pm-8:00pm, Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 11:00am at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Albemarle, officiated by Father Fitzgibbons. Burial will follow at the Stanly Gardens of Memory at 2001 East Main St., Albemarle.

Survivors include sons; Patrick (Bridgette) Keegan of Cohoes, NY, Nicholas (Heather) Keegan of Albemarle, NC, Craig Keegan of Albemarle, NC, grandchildren; Gavin, Hannah, Jack, Elyse, Oliver, and Ryan Keegan, and sister, Jeannine Giroux-Holland and her late husband Mark. Mary Jude was also the loving "Ant" of Elizabeth, Maria, and Allyson Holland.

Mary Jude Keegan RN, BSN, CHN was a graduate of Catholic High School, class of 1978, Albany Memorial Nursing School, and SUNY Utica-Rome. She worked for many years as a critical care nurse, Hospice nurse, and also worked with the prison system to care for the sick. Mary Jude absolutely loved her grandchildren and she was always excited to see them. She enjoyed shopping, bowling, and going to dinner with her family. Most important to her was spending quality time with her loved ones. Mary Jude was a devout Roman Catholic who regularly attended Mass on Sundays.
