Mary Novella Maxwell Kluttz, 81, of 126 Arlington Avenue SE Concord, NC 28025 passed away on March 1, 2011 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. She was born on June 23, 1929 in Cabarrus County to the late George Lewis and Lucile Barnhardt Maxwell. She was also preceded in death by a son Jimmy Kluttz. Novella was a retired secretary for Kluttz Brothers Building Contractors, employed by The Bridal Shoppe, and a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she was Bridal Director for her church. She was a VIP member of the Concord Lions Club, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and Concord Women’s Club. Novella was a loving wife of 63 years, extraordinary mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. The family meeting place will be the home. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Thursday, March 3, 2011 from 5 until 7 PM. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church on Friday, March 4, 2011 at 2 PM, with Rev Tom Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. She is survived by: husband, Ray B. Kluttz, Sr of the home; son, R.B. Kluttz and wife Susan Kreuter of Shellman Bluff, GA; daughter, Francine Kluttz Cline and husband Ben F. Cline, Jr. of Henderson, KY; daughter-in-law Beth Cole Kluttz of Concord; brother, Albert Luther Maxwell of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Q.M. Taylor Cline, Nicholas Foy Cline, Lauren Cline Hinz, Lenna Kluttz Boger, Ashley Novella Kluttz, and Stephanie Fernandez Amuso; great-grandchildren, Haleigh Anne Cline and Paul Branson Cline. The family wishes to express their sincere thank you for all the assistance given to Novella during her illness.
