Mary Mills

Mary Lecty Mills, 78, of Oakboro, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at her home.

Mrs. Mills was born November 11, 1940 in Union County to the late Philas Hinson and the late Lula Meggs Hinson. She was also preceded in death by brothers, DZ Hinson, Harl Hinson; Rayvon Hinson, Tony Hinson, John Hinson; and sister, Elvina Kluttz.

Mary was a member of West Oakboro Baptist Church. She was a wonderful caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Mary was employed at Stanly Knitting Mill for 35 years and JC Penny until her retirement.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM - 2:45 PM , Friday, July 26, 2019, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM  at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel officiated by Pastor Keith Austin and Pastor Joe Smith. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Marshville.

Survivors include husband of 62 years, Lewis Mills of Oakboro; daughter, Kathy Hatley and husband Tony of Oakboro; son, Randy Mills and wife Jann of Oakboro; granddaughter, Michaela Zepeda and husband Levin of Oakboro; great grandson, Julian Zepeda; and sister-in-laws, Judy Hinson, Judie Demuth, and Elizabeth Barrier.
