Mary Lilly

Mary Blalock Lilly, 89, of 12500 Mary Branch Road, Norwood, died September 21, 2009 at her home. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, September 23, at Hartsell Funeral Home - Albemarle. The family meeting place is at her home. Her funeral will be at 11 am on Thursday, September 24, with a 30 minute state at Memorial Baptist Church, where she was a charter member. The Rev. Daniel Flynn will officiate and burial will be in Norview Gardens, Norwood. Born October 4, 1919, in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late Walter Black Blalock and Esther Mae Kirk Blalock and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Triple L. Club of Memorial Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Branch Lilly; four brothers, William Thomas Blalock, Frank Blalock, Orville "Duck" Blalock and Billy Blalock, and a sister, Lillie Mae Eudy. She is survived by three sons, William B. and wife Lynn of Norwood, Kirk and wife Susan of Houston, TX, and W. Richard and wife Brenda of N. Wilkesboro, a daughter, Mary Ellen Robinson and husband Gary of Jamestown, a brother, Calvin Blalock of Shelby, and nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
